About Dias Karimov
Dias Karimov is a concert pianist, arranger, improviser, and educator based in Wiesbaden, Germany. Known for his unique crossover style, Dias merges classical structure, jazz harmony, and improvisational clarity, creating an innovative sound that resonates internationally.
Artistic Background
Born in Ufa, Russia, into a musical family, Dias began performing at the age of six. His father, composer and pianist Airat Karimov, played a pivotal role in his early development, passing on both classical foundations and improvisational thinking. Dias continued his education in Russia, completing postgraduate studies in classical piano at the State Academy of Arts in Ufa. He then studied jazz piano at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar, Germany, under the guidance of Leonid Chizhik and David Gazarov.
Concert Activity
Dias has performed across Germany, France, Russia, Turkey, Bulgaria, and the USA, showcasing a diverse repertoire that includes original works, crossover interpretations of classical music, and free improvisations. He regularly appears in concert halls, festivals, and cultural events, blending artistic discipline with stylistic freedom.
Teaching & Arranging
In addition to his performance career, Dias is an experienced educator and founder of the online school “Virtual Piano,” where he teaches jazz, improvisation, and crossover piano. He has created over 100 piano arrangements spanning classical transcriptions, jazz, and pop, all available at store-dias.com.
